THE COUNTRYSIDE IN THE CITY CENTER
When we found this cottage as it was in the 19th century, the walls were cracked with openings sealed to keep them upright. There was no water supply and only basic electricity. The roof was sagging from the weight of the years and the staircase had collapsed. Fortunately, the garden was there, but invaded by weeds.
We took a while to appreciate the atmosphere of the house and after several months of planning we began our own work using the old materials found there as well as some recovered in the region.
A local author, René Barjavel remarked : "The only difference between Nyonsand Paradise is that Nyons is for the living"
